Follow up

Dear Newmarket parents, guardians, staff, and community members,

I am following up on yesterday’s communication from my office regarding the investigation being conducted by the Newmarket Police Department involving a Newmarket School District employee. As a school leader, learning that a school district employee is the subject of a criminal investigation is shocking news. I’m sure it was equally concerning to everyone in the community. In the coming days, more information will be available to the public that will answer your questions. In the meantime, please know that, as a district, we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community members.

I want to take a moment to emphasize one key point shared by the police department. The investigation is still ongoing, but there is no evidence that the conduct under investigation is connected in any way to any students, staff members, or Newmarket residents. The only connection is that the person worked in the district.

As I stated yesterday, as soon as I have more information to share, I will do so.

Newmarket is a special community, and I thank you for your patience and support as we work through this challenging situation.
