Civic Opportunities

Dear Newmarket parents, guardians, teachers, students, and community members,

I want to highlight a couple of civic engagement opportunities in Newmarket over the next week.

Tuesday, March 12th, is election day in Newmarket. Voting will be at the Town Hall Auditorium from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. All town and school district warrant articles will be voted on. More information on the elections can be found on the town and school district websites. Here is a link to a quick reference budget flier regarding the school district warrant.

Another great opportunity to participate in town decision-making is Saturday, March 16th. The Town of Newmarket, with its partner Strafford Regional Planning Commission, is hosting a Master Plan Visioning session at Newmarket Junior/Senior High School from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM. At this workshop, a community vision will be developed that will assist the town in how to concentrate its planning efforts for the next 5 to 10 years. There will also be chances to discuss housing issues and opportunities to engage in conversations related to planning for open space (improvement of conservation lands, outdoor recreation opportunities, and preservation of land and water resources) advancement. Here is the flyer for the Newmarket Master Plan Visioning session. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience. Hope to see you there.

Sincerely,
Todd Allen
Newmarket Superintendent
