Saturday's Event and Principal Search

Good afternoon, Newmarket parents, guardians, and community members-

We have had a very busy week preparing for tomorrow’s community celebration in our schools. Please join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony taking place at 9:00 AM at the JSHS and 10:00 AM at NES. Student tours and activities will take place between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at both schools. More information is highlighted on this flier.

As you know, David Dalton, our JSHS principal will be leaving at the end of June.  We are grateful for his leadership and wish him all the best as he transitions to the next chapter in his life’s journey. We have hired NESDEC to help facilitate the search for his replacement. Below are ways you can get involved in the search for our next principal.

1) Join the Screening Committee - The Screening Committee will include staff, students, parents, and community members. If you are interested in joining the screening Committee, peek at the timeline to make sure you can attend all sessions and if so, send a letter of interest to Patty Banfield by 9:00 AM April, 17, 2022.

2) Participate when Candidates Visit the School - Finalists will spend a day visiting our learning community. Time will be set aside for you to meet with them so you can ask questions. After the meeting, you will be able to share your impressions of the candidates on an exit ticket.

3) Attend Public Forum - There will be a public forum held in the evening that all are welcome to attend.

We will share more details about the Candidate Visits, Finalists, and the Public Forum next month.

Have a great night and please do join us tomorrow for some refreshments, entertainment, and school tours!
