Masking on Busses

Good evening families,

I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable week!

I wanted to remind you that just before we left for break, there was a change in mask wearing guidance from the state and more recently CDC. When your child returns from break, mask wearing will be optional for all students and staff members unless you are eligible to return early from isolation/quarantine.

This past week, the federal requirement to wear a mask on public transportation for K-12 schools was also lifted.  As shared at the beginning of the year, it is not possible to maintain 3 feet of physical distancing on our school buses.  Because of this, families may decide to continue to have their children wear masks on the school bus even though it is no longer required.

Just a reminder, that staff will not monitor or enforce parental mask preferences unless mask wearing is medically necessary and documented by a healthcare professional.  Each person’s circumstances and needs are different and we should all be accepting of the choices and needs of others in our learning community.

I hope you all had a wonderful break and we look forward to welcoming you back!
