Alleged Threat Unfounded

Good afternoon, parents, guardians, and members of the Newmarket community,

This morning we were made aware of an alleged threat of violence against our junior senior high school by an unknown subject. Our police department worked with the school administration, staff, and students to conduct an investigation and concluded that no current threat exists in our community or schools.

We are grateful for the expeditious manner in which the police department handled this situation. Safety and security of all staff and students is of paramount importance to us and we will continue to work in partnership with our police department and school resource officers to ensure a safe school environment for all members of our learning community.
