JSHS Continue Remote Learning Next Week

Dear parents, guardians, and members of the Newmarket community,

Congratulations, we are beyond the halfway point for the school year and we are looking forward to the months ahead. We have mastered new routines, vaccines are being rolled out, and Winter break is a week away.

We know how important it is to have information with as much advance notice as possible especially when we are forced to pivot or remain in a remote model of learning. Last weekend when we pivoted to remote learning at the JSHS, we had a glimmer of hope that we might be able to have students return this week. Unfortunately, we continue to face a staffing shortage and will not be able to have students return to in-person learning next week at the JSHS. SST transportation and lunches will continue to be provided for students in the upcoming week following the same protocols.

The Elementary School will continue with in person learning next week.

We encourage you to continue following safety protocols when in public or when you are with people outside of your family bubble.

We hope you have a Happy Valentine’s Day and enjoy the upcoming February vacation!

Susan K. Givens, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
