School Arrival and Dismissal Changes

Good afternoon parents, guardians, and members of the Newmarket community,

It was quite the interesting transition into our first full week of teaching and learning and a real test of our remote learning transition plan at the JSHS. I know that this transition was certainly much smoother than the one we all experienced in March and we will continue to refine our pivot plan for future transitions.  We are in this together and that sentiment and its expression Below are a few updates to recap the week.

Arrival and Dismissal. We have met twice with the bus company about the possibility of starting bus arrival at 7:30 AM at the JSHS and 8:15 AM at NES. These changes will go into effect on October 5^th.

Parent Meeting. We will be holding another Town Hall style meeting for parents on Tuesday September 29^th to review the arrival and dismissal schedule, trigger points for transitioning to remote learning, and answer any lingering questions you have about school opening. Access the meeting.

Job Openings. We still need four more monitors and many more paraprofessionals to fully meet the needs of our entire student population and provide a lunch break for every staff member.
