School is Open!

September 12, 2020

Good morning, parents, guardians, and members of the Newmarket community,

We did it! Students have returned to school and we cannot thank you enough for preparing your children for this historical school opening. Kids and staff are happy to be in school together and are adjusting very well to wearing masks, arrival, dismissal, and lunch procedures, and social distancing. The next milestone in our reopening will occur on Monday, September 14th when we welcome our remote learners to school!

A quick couple of reminders to help us improve our arrival and dismissal, prepare student meals, and fully staff our schools.

Arrival and Departure. We realized this week that speed limit signs have not been installed on our campuses. We will order these signs next week and work with the public safety departments in town to identify appropriate locations to install them. The speed limit on campus is 5 miles per hour.  This is especially important given the multiple drop off locations around the buildings. Also, if you are dropping off 9th and/or 10th grade students, please pull into the right lane to allow traffic to continue around the building while you safely drop off your children. Thank you all for helping us improve our arrival and dismissal process.

Menus & Preordering for Meals.  Menus are now available on our website.  Please follow this link to access the Newmarket School District-Food Service Site and let us know by Sunday night each week, what meals you would like to order for children.  Remote learners can pick up their preordered meals Monday-Friday from 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM at the entranceway behind the Newmarket Elementary School. Should you have any questions or difficulty accessing these documents, please reach out to Linda Hopey at hopeyl@newmarket.k12.nh.us.

Job Openings. We still need several more monitors and many more paraprofessionals to fully meet the needs of our entire student population and provide a lunch break for every staff member. If you, or someone you know, is interested, please complete this application and submit it to Patty Banfield (banfieldp@newmarket.k12.nh.us).
