School Reopening Update

Good evening, parents, guardians, and members of the Newmarket community,

Staff returned from summer recess this week and are working diligently to prepare for this complex school opening. In addition to planning, we are all learning how to use new digital tools (ZOOM, Google Tools, etc.), acclimating to our new routines, setting up learning spaces, and building our Social Emotional Learning toolkit.  Go Mules!!!

Today’s letter includes additional school opening information, a note about our new website, and a list of job openings that do not require educator credentials.

School Reopening Information

This week we were able to finalize the arrival, dismissal, and school schedules as well as the guidelines for athletics and co-curricular activities and traffic flow maps.

School Reopening – Schedules, Arrival/Dismissal, Athletics/Co-Curricular

We will have a town hall style virtual meeting on Tuesday evening, September 1st at 6:00 PM to review this information and answer questions.

New Web Site

We are pleased to share the newly-reconstructed school and district websites with you this week.

When the Communications Subcommittee conducted a survey last year, it became clear that reconstruction of the websites was necessary for the overall improvement of district-wide communications. Three overarching goals specific to the websites emerged from the survey:

1.      Create a more streamlined look and user experience.
2.      Provide easier access to important and updated information.
3.      Improve responsiveness on mobile devices.

While we have worked hard to meet the above goals, your feedback will be crucial to the ultimate success of the website. We invite you to tour the new site and to send us your thoughts via this anonymous form. Our team will use your feedback to make corrections and improvements, as the new website is still a work in progress, as is every new site when it first rolls out. (And please do feel free to send positive feedback, as well! Everyone can use the boost that comes from clear and specific praise.)

We are excited about this important improvement to district operations and look forward to hearing your responses.
