What is your job title and school? 

I teach 3rd Grade NES and I also volunteer as a golf coach after school in the spring.

 

What is your favorite part of your job and of teaching/working in Newmarket?

I love helping students find the joy and satisfaction in learning, as well as the tomfoolery that goes along with working with kids!

 

Where did you grow up? Where did you go to college?

I grew up in Butler, PA and attended Slippery Rock University and Stetson University.

 

How long have you worked in Newmarket? Where did you work before that?

I’ve worked in Newmarket for 6 years.  Before that, I taught in Kissimmee, FL, for twelve years, and Hooksett, NH, for two.

 

Please tell us about your family. Pets?

I am married to Mrs. Hollock and we have two boys.  We have two cats, Milo and Cosmo.

 

What activities/interests do you enjoy outside of work?

I like golfing, gardening/landscaping, Lego, Star Wars, Marvel, and DIY projects.

What is your favorite restaurant (or type of cuisine)? What food(s) do you really dislike?

My favorite cuisines are Mexican, Italian, Asian, and snacks.

 

If you had to eat one meal everyday for the rest of your life what would it be?

I would eat Chicken Fried Rice from Kume everyday!

 

What is your favorite ice cream flavor or dessert?

It’s a tie… Cookie dough and Reese’s cup.

 

What is the most interesting place you have visited in your travels?

I would say that Cairo, Egypt, is the most interesting place I’ve been.

 

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?

I would travel to Antarctica because I love a good adventure, and would love to add a pin to my map.

 

If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead (besides family members), who would you choose, and why?

Will Ferrell - He cracks me up in anything he does!  We actually invited him to our wedding... he didn't come.

Simone Biles - She's the GOAT

Tom Hanks - Amazing actor and person

 

If you could magically master a new skill in one day what would it be?

Trapeze or Kung Fu

Go to an Olympic Games

Visit all seven continents

Travel to 50+ countries (I’m currently at 18)

 

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Teaching: Every child has a story.

Life: The problem is not the problem.  The problem is your attitude about the problem.

 

What is a surprising or interesting thing that people may not know about you?

I was a gymnast for 12 years, the mascot for Slippery Rock University, and I used to do aerial silks.
