winter-clothing-driveEach year the Exeter Chamber Children's Fund raises money to provide warm winter clothing and bedding for families in need in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire.

Newmarket Elementary School Student Council members will be collecting donations in the school lobby each morning between 12/1 and 12/12. Students who donate may write their names on snowmen and tape them to the wall! Students are encouraged to do chores at home to raise money to contribute.

A "Hat Day" will be held on Friday, November 12 to encourage donations.

"Together we can provide warmth to a local child in need."

king-arthur-flour-bfgkids-logo-whtThe delicious smell of home-baked bread will be in the air in Maine and New Hampshire when The King Arthur Flour Company of Norwich, Vt., brings the Bake for Good: Kids Learn Bake Share Program to 5 schools December 2-4 to teach 993 fourth- through seventh-grade students to bake fresh, nutritious bread from scratch. The program will be presented in the Newmarket schools on Wednesday, December 3rd.

Community Survey for Full-Day Kindergarten PDF Print E-mail

The Newmarket School District has charged the Full Day Kindergarten Task Force to explore the possibility of instituting a full day kindergarten program. Currently, the school district offers a 2 and ½ hour kindergarten program five days a week.

The Full Day Kindergarten Task Force has constructed a brief survey that will offer community members an opportunity to offer input into our findings. The survey results will be part of our presentation to the Newmarket School Board on December 4, 2014.

Teens for Jeans kicks off collection drive with School Board challenge PDF Print E-mail

On October 15, Linked Together's Service Learning Group received an email inviting them to participate in the "Best of the Best" Teens For Jeans Competition! This leaderboard challenge was capped at 75 schools and starting now until February 15 the groups participating will be competing against the top Elementary, Middle, High School and Colleges in the country, collecting jeans to help clothe young people experiencing homelessness.

They are challenging every member of the School Board to talk to their families and friends to bring in 10 pairs of jeans by November 29th.

The Newmarket Lightning U-12 Girls won the New Hampshire Soccer League (NHSL) Division 3 Championship defeating Nashua 3-2 in the league's championship match. The Newmarket Lightning capped off an undefeated season with a record of 9-0.
