Dear Parents:
It’s hard to believe we have entered the last trimester of the school year. The next two months are exceptionally busy. The staff and administration are working together on end of the year activities as well as planning the following school year’s program. One of the most important tasks we undertake each spring is determining the placement of students in classrooms for the upcoming school year. It is a responsibility we take very seriously. We carefully consider the needs of all students. Great care and effort are taken to create classrooms that are balanced in gender, academic levels, social considerations, and learning needs.
If you have any additional information or special concerns in respect to your child’s placement for next year, please send the attached form to the principal’s office by May 6, 2022. In the interest of creating balanced learning environments for all students, we ask that you do not request a specific teacher. Rather than naming an individual teacher, we encourage you to describe your child’s needs and indicate the type of classroom environment you feel best matches your child’s learning style.
In addition to our traditional grade level classrooms in the 1st & 2nd grade, we will also be offering two 1st/2nd multi-grade classes. If you’re interested in having your Kindergarten child enrolled in one of these classrooms, please indicate this choice on the attached form. Please be aware that children enrolled in the multi-grade classroom will remain with this setting for both 1st and 2nd grade. At the 4th grade level, Ms. Williamson and Ms. Rodier will be job sharing their classroom teaching duties during the 2022-2023 school year.
While we are not able to accommodate every request, we will do our best to consider parent and teacher input in this process. We appreciate your support and consideration in this endeavor.
Sincerely,
Sean Pine
Principal
