Vision of a Graduate Community Invitation

Dear Newmarket parents, guardians, teachers and community members,

I am writing today to tell you about an opportunity for community members to provide input on the future direction of the Newmarket School System. As many may already know, Newmarket High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). In October a visiting team from NEASC came to NJSHS to provide us with guidance for future school improvement efforts. One of the key recommendations of NEASC is to fully develop a Vision of a Graduate (VoG). A VoG is a document that outlines the aspirations the community has for its schools along with the qualities or transferable skills we want our students to achieve by the time they graduate. This document will influence our program from pre-K to 12. For Newmarket’s Vision of a Graduate to have maximum benefit to the school system, it is important that it aligns with the community's beliefs and values.

With this in mind, all Newmarket Community members are invited to join us on Monday, January 30th at NJSHS in the Cafetorium to help the school district develop its Vision of a Graduate. The evening will begin at 5:30PM with pizza and salad for all attendees. At 6:15PM, the NJSHS staff and district leadership will present the work completed to date on the Vision of a Graduate, and the evening will conclude with attendee’s feedback.

Newmarket educators would appreciate participation from a wide cross section of our community. If you have thoughts about the Newmarket Schools but have never had a chance to share them, this is an opportunity to do so. Please consider attending.
