1. What do you do for a living?

I am a retired teacher with a B.S. in Elementary Education and an M.Ed. in Educational Technology.

2. How long have you lived in Newmarket?

Six years; my husband and I moved here in 2019.

3. Why do you want to serve on the school board?

Serving on the school board is a great way to get to know more people in Newmarket while staying engaged in education, a field I dedicated my career to. My experience as a retired teacher and former technology coordinator gives me insight into both the challenges and opportunities in education. I hope to contribute to the board’s efforts in fostering a strong learning environment for students, educators, and the community.

As a homeowner, I also understand the financial impact of school funding on local taxpayers. I want to ensure our schools remain well-supported while being mindful of the costs that residents shoulder.

4. Have you ever run for office or served on a public board/committee before?

While living in Franklin for 17 years, I served on school and city committees, supported building projects, teacher contracts, and candidates who prioritized education. Since retiring, I’ve remained engaged in education issues and am now ready to get more involved by serving on Newmarket’s school board.

5. Is there anything else you would like voters to know?

On Tuesday, March 11, voters will elect candidates for various town positions, including two seats on the Newmarket School Board. I’m running for one of those seats because I believe strong public schools are vital to our community.

I moved to Newmarket in 2009 from Portsmouth, but I’m a lifelong New Hampshire resident, born and raised in Franklin. My background in education includes teaching preschool and elementary school before serving as the technology coordinator for the Merrimack Valley School District, where I worked to support teachers through professional development and classroom technology integration.

As I continue learning about Newmarket’s school initiatives, I’m committed to supporting their ongoing success while keeping an eye on the financial challenges we all face. I would be honored to serve on the school board and respectfully ask for your vote on March 11.
