Ladder the Whale visits NES

It was an exciting day this summer when Ladder the Whale visited Newmarket Elementary School. Ladder is a 65 foot fin whale modeled after a real fin whale in the Gulf of Maine that the Blue Ocean Society studied from 1998 to 2018. Fin whales are an endangered species and the second largest animal on earth! NES students watched the whale inflate and come to life and then went inside the whale to learn more facts from the marine educator.
