School District Transition Planning
At the February 18, 2016 School Board meeting, Board Chair Nathan Lunney announced that, in an effort to prepare the SAU for success, the School Board has developed a transitional plan for the next 4 months. With the upcoming retirement of Patricia Ballantyne, the Current Director of Curriculum and Development, with a goal of Meredith Nadeau beginning her July 1 tenure poised for success and with input from Interim Superintendent Dr. Mike Martin and Meredith Nadeau the following decisions were discussed:
- Based on his superior performance in the District for the last 10 years and the wealth of institutional knowledge that he possesses, Dr. Martin nominated NJSHS Principal Christopher Andriski for the role of Assistant Superintendent. After much discussion, the School Board voted unanimously to accept this nomination. Congratulations, Chris!! Thank you for your tireless and dedicated service to the faculty, staff, students and residents of our District.
Moving forward, the SAU team and the School Board will continue to iron out further details regarding the transition and the goals for the District. The search for a new principal for the Junior/Senior High School has already begun. Please be assured that Chris Andriski will continue to serve as principal of the Junior/Senior High until June 30, 2016.
- Effective immediately, Ms. Ballantyne will become the Assistant to the Superintendent. In this role, she will continue her duties pertaining to curriculum and grants and add the day-to-day management of the SAU central office, serve as the point of contact for communication with the Superintendent, act in his place when he is not in the office and seek council from the incoming superintendent when needed. Special thanks to Pat for her willingness to step up during this transition and for the the multitude of ways that she has served our district during her four decades as an educator and administrator.
