11/5/2013 - On Thursday, October 24th, the Newmarket School Board approved two motions in response to the communication from Oyster River on the tuition agreement framework, dated October 7, 2013. The motions both passed by 4-0 votes and read as follows:
To direct our District team to continue to meet with Oyster River representatives to negotiate the final terms of the Tuition Agreement.
To instruct the Superintendent to communicate to Oyster River that, if offered a mutually agreed upon tuition agreement proposal, we will place it before the voters at our March 2014 school district meeting.

On Tuesday, October 22nd, representatives from Oyster River were presented with a set of proposals to modify the current framework of the Tuition Agreement. On October 31st, I received an email from Superintendent Morse which stated that his Board was struggling with a response to our proposal and that it was still being reviewed by them along with their attorney. I responded to that email, noting the seriousness with which our Board made the proposals and their willingness to negotiate. To date, I have not had any response from Oyster River. I believe it is on the agenda for their November 6th Board meeting.
